Description

With their Hudson River rival team making big moves to become stronger, the devils need to add big and skilled guys. Tuch and Ritchie are both big bodies with skill. Ritchie gets the same contract as Simmonds did when he was with the devils. It’s one year so there’s no harm and it is low risk, high reward. Zacha is not physical and his underlying numbers are not the greatest. His value is at an all time high and with double retention, Vegas would like that. Johnsson can be a good depth scorer, especially at double retention as well for Vegas.

Also the D pairings are not categorized by ice time. They would all get the same ice time (except the top pairing which will get more ice time). Each pairing has size, speed, skill, aggression, offense, defense, youth, and experience. Subban is not better than any of those D men. If you watch him, his offense sucks and he chooses not to play defense. With him out of the lineup, the team will be better.

Not as aggressive as Tuch and Tuch is better defensively and gives more effort.

Tuch is going on LTIR, and I still would do this. It’s a good offer, but those are expiring assets that would cost wayyyy more than tuch’s contract going forward

Zacha is an RFA at the end of the contract and Johnsson has two more years on his deal. Walsh is an A- prospect. None are expiring deals.
