If he qualifies for IR then they really should let him have the surgery. This is becoming stupid. Team says he doesn’t need it so therefore he really can’t be that injured if at all or they are just being childish. Only other option is he is using this as his way of not pulling a PLD and skating slower than a 4 year old, which is what Eichel will end up doing if they try to hold on to him. He will intentionally try to drive down his value

No they shouldn't let him get an experimental surgery, its ploy by him to be traded out of buffalo.

So has the surgery never been performed ever in the history of medicine? Or just not on a hockey player? I also assume it’s his play of trade me, I won’t play for you. Problem is, now you have a PLD who will be benched for most of the season. Then the value of Eichel is 4 seasons. Then 3. 2. 1. UFA. Today is when you get the most for him, not to mention if a team is trying to build a NEW culture, it won’t start till he is gone so it’s only delaying the fresh start. It will become a situation where not trading him sooner was the big mistake. It’s going to be fun to watch either way

Eichel was seen skating in Boston. Allegedly, took more than three doctors before he found one who agreed to the surgery. (Which has never been done on a hockey player.)
