Ritchie takes to many dumb penalties

If he didnt do that he would have been a leaf by now

Good signing. Kase has been battling with a lot of injuries recently, but if he can stay healthy and gets back to his game, this signing is an absolute steal. Not much risk at this cheap of a deal.

Not reliable but a good signing if he can stay healthy and get some consistency in. He could rack up a good year with the Leafs.

Perhaps the most overrated player in the league by people on this website (going on what, 3? 4 years?).

Guy hasn't done anything for 3 years. I know injuries don't help, but he has little to his name and is treated like a big piece.

Still, 1.25M is fine for a depth piece. This is a good use of 1.25m.

Made of glass but he's an analytical darling.

Still think Toronto need a top 6 LW, but if he rebounds he'll be useful.

How is a 1.25 million signing a big piece?

Everything from having the trade value of a first liner 3 years ago, to being seen as a "obvious" Seattle choice from Boston, to being seen as an analytical mastermind.

What toronto has done here is fine, but this player isn't anything more than a bottom six depth piece.

Nah I disagree with being a bottom 6 depth piece.

He looked like a good second liner 2 and 3 years ago. No super star but a good winger. Then he missed a whole year from injury.

For a team like the leafs with our salary cap issues it's an awesome move in case he can return to form as a 2nd line winger who can push play. But he may be done given the lost year and injury as you say and just be a depth piece.

Bruins would have protected him if he was healthy and played last season so Seattle wouldn't have been able to take him.

This is exactly what i mean by overrated. This guy has done nothing in 4 years and had one good year before many of the forum users knew how to type, and yet somehow he is still seen as a top 6 forward??

I think I now understand why Dubas chose him over Tatar. Apparently were also in on Ritchie per Serevalli so we need the space to get him as well.

If Ritchie comes we got

Bunting-Matthews-Marner
Ritchie-Tavares-Nylander
Mikheyev-Kerfoot-Kase
Simmonds-Kampf-Spezza

My guess rn but not bad
