Initial Creation Date: Jul. 30, 2021

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Although DeBrusk had a down year, I believe him and Dvorak have similar value. Looking at both of their overall careers they are very similar. Wagner would be included as well to clear some cap space and the 3rd rounder would be to take on Wagner as he still has 2 years left on his deal. I believe they will use DeBrusk to get another defenseman, but with this team you never know.

I agree. I’ve been a supporter of holding on to DeBrusk because I believe in his upside and don’t want them to sell low on him. But I think Dvorak is a worthwhile swap with Krejci gone. I would just swap Moore for Wagner. Yotes need the defense anyway

Moore would clear more cap space, but because of the higher cap hit and the injury history I’m afraid they would have to send a second rounder to move him. Although a second isn’t as valuable as a 1st, their prospect pool still needs some higher end talent in development. They did well in this draft, but that second will be low and I think they’d rather draft and develop someone and see or trade them later. They were lucky to get Hall for a 2nd because he used his NMC to force his way to Boston and held leverage.

It really isn't close in value, Dvorak has a higher ceiling and Debrusk has had much better opportunity and hasn't produced. Plus AZ probably needs more futures

DeBrusk has a high ceiling as well. Just because the Bruins took him higher than he was projected doesn’t mean he’s any lower value wise compared to Dvorak. I understand Dvorak has been on bad Arizona teams, but still I think both could use a change of scenery. He’s not worth a 1st, him and DeBrusk have similar value. DeBrusk has shown high end skills even individually. Just like with any teams with all stars; they make those around them better. If Dvorak was in Boston with Hall I could see him as a 50-60 point player. Aside from this past season DeBrusk has been able to score just about 20 goals and close to 40 points and looking at Dvorak’s career he’s very similar. Boston needs centers now and DeBrusk is expendable as Hall is signed for 4 years.
