Still too pricy. Buffalo isn’t going to get what they want. Best guess would be Comtois + Perrault + Protected 1st MAYBE. His value has dropped with this whole situation. The fact Vegas doesn’t want to part ways with Krebs is saying a lot.

Buffalo is going to have to suck it up and take what they can get and work with what they have. Buffalo has enough young players to start working back up and could be working upwards. But nothing is going to help if they just don’t move Eichel. It’ll really hurt the franchise.

It’s starting to feel like it comes to an underwhelming return like this but I still think LA, NYR, and MIN should easily be willing to match this. Turcotte, Kupari, Boldy, Beckman, Kravtsov, Schneider, etc. are more disposable to them I feel like, whereas Zegras and Drysdale are too important to ANA.

Disagree. This is just the same thing that’s been going around this board with ACGMs trying to take advantage of high end players situations trying to get a lot for a little because of the circumstances. Eichel is still a franchise-tier player and you don’t get to pretend like you’re taking that away from him just because it would benefit you.

That's....not very pricy at all. if u aren't willing to pay THIS Eichel isn't going to Anaheim and the ducks can continue to be last in scoring

The cap is gone for LA, Vegas, and MN to make Eichel work. NYR can make it work, a couple other teams would have to get real creative and to join in the bidding.

I think Vegas is out with the Dadonov acquisition, but MIN and LA should still be considered in.

They arent getting what they want, they want Zegras. Buffalo doesnt have to suck anything up. I would love to watch the NHL lose a premier player to Russia because the old boys club thought they could low ball one of the new kids again, and screw over one of the most dedicated fan bases in the league again

Unless they add Dandonov, or waive him and tell Buffalo to pick him up

LA signed Danault and is pushing the cap. MN is looking at dealing with $14m in dead cap for the next 4 years.

Good for BUF. MN and LA don't have anyone to dump that makes getting Eichel worth it. It's not like MN can trade Parise's dead buyout cap. The window to trade Eichel was the end of the season to before UFA opened. That window has closed for most teams.

Yet NYR fans only cite stuff Friedman says when it supports their claim that they somehow have major leverage

I think Eichel needs to prove he's healthy before a team offers the kind of deal Buffalo is looking for.

Also, the NYR have cap space this year, but next year have to sign Fox and Zibanejad. They'll find a way to make Fox work but Zibanejad will be gone. So unless they trade him, it's as if you're including him in the price for Eichel.

What I'm saying is if they get Eichel they are okay for cap this year, but they can't resign Zibanejad next year. So they trade 4 assets for Eichel plus they lose Zibanejad to free agency. That makes little sense.
