If Nashville isn't on Monahan's NTC, this should probably be a yes from Buffalo and Calgary. But does Nashville pay that? Not so sure. Maybe have a cap dump going from them to Buffalo.

I mean they need to bolster their C core a bit. Ryjo and Duchene just aren't productive enough.

Do Preds even have a cap dump other than Duchene? Imo BUF shouldn't touch that.

Dont think Nashville needs more average 1B centers, they already have 2. Thats also probably an overpayment from Nashville

Did you see my Boston one? Pretty similar and fits the needs

Maybe Johansen? Sabres probably shouldn't touch that either. Maybe they just retain on Monahan as part of the deal or drop a piece coming from Nashville.

I like him, but he's stuck in Preds system.

Went to check it out. It's pretty decent but imo there's slightly too many pieces moving there. I just wonder if there's an actual need for Monahan in BOS, and if there is why wouldn't they go after Eichel themselves as they do need a future guy with Bergeron's era coming to an end eventually.

There’s ZERO chance Buffalo trades Eichel to Boston

If you read the comments i answered that but ill repeat here.

Does Boston have a need for Monahan?
- Boston doesnt have a 2C at all right now, Monahan is strictly younger than their current soon to expire 1C and has an extra year of term, he would also likely have strong chemistry with Hall like he does with Gaudreau.

Why doesnt Boston trade for Eichel instead?
1. Cap space, Boston is currently at the ceiling and Eichel cost 10M
2. Division rival, Pegula is on record saying he only wants to send Eichel out west.
3. Cost, Boston literally doesnt have the assets to acquire him without moving multiple core players

Coyle is a viable 2C and I'm pretty sure he was signed to be one in the future, despite having a poor year. Premature to say whether he'd work with Hall or not but this we'll likely see.

Cost and price are something you're most likely right about. I don't think Pegula would prevent trading him to an eastern team if the price is right though, although considering what a f*cking idiot that guy is I wouldn't be too surprised about that.

Work rate, speed, skill, versatility etc. I feel he's tad underrated.

At this rate the chances of BUF trading Eichel anywhere are diminishing. No one wants to pay the absolute return BUF demands as long as Eichel's health come to question, and BUF is not doing crap to get Eichel to better health, which was just proven by the statement published by Eichel's agent group.

Ok…. But we still aren’t gonna trade him to Boston
I’d be shocked

Forgot to mention the trade size, its not that different from the Duchene trade. It boils down to Monahan + the prospects for Eichel, and then Boston moving cap dumps (plus paying for the cap dumps) for Monahan

Idk about going with Coyle, hes only reached 20 goals once and 50 points 1 time as well, especially coming off a bad season it may be better to buy low on someone like Monahan while also moving useless cap

I can't see the Preds paying that price for Monahan.
