I would guess he has deals done with Palmieri, Parise, Cizikas, Zajac, and Ryan Murray. I’m not sure why he won’t announce them, but he didn’t last year so nobody would offer sheet Barzal. Maybe more of that this year?

Agree fully with this. I think Lou is trying to swap Bailey for Tarasenko while making the cap work. He is definitely trying to call the Blues bluff and lower that asking price.

You might be right, however Armstrong doesn't lose many trades so I doubt he will not take less than fair.

I just have a very hard time seeing him get anything close to what he would be worth if healthy. He has a no trade clause, significant injury history, big contract, few games played over the last two years. He wasn’t even selected for free. I actually think Bailey could be an overpay.

The longer this goes, the less bargaining power armstrong has. If it drags on until camp and Vlad doesn’t report, they’re F’d.

1- Oh FCOL. He's healthy now. He played from March on with no shoulder issues in the slightest. His doctor says he's 100% (and pissed off at people constantly saying he's toast, to boot).

2- Well, that's just not true. And as soon as the season starts, that power has a nice chance of rising quick. And a lot.

    1. Shoulder injuries ruin careers all the time. The guy had three surgeries and 4 goals in 24 games last year but we’re just supposed to take HIS doctors word it’s not an issue?? GTFO

    2. When he doesn’t report to camp and he holds out guess how much return Armstrong will get for him then? ZERO

he was healthy but did not perform well last year. that decreases his value, because how do teams know if that was what tarasenko is now, or if he can perform the way he did a few years ago. it’s not going to be a nothing return, but it won’t be a prime tarasenko return unless, like you said, tarasenko plays with the blues to start the season and looks like prime tarasenko.

1- Riiiiight. We should not listen to his actual doctor! We should all just listen to you, who has no expertise, hasn't examined the patient and hasn't been along for his offseason workouts (which he hasn't had in two years, mind you). Of course! Why did we not think of this obvious slight before?!?!

    "/

2- Heh. Dude, if you need to invent scenarios out of clear blue sky to make your point, you don't actually have one. Or do we just judge everything by the conceivable worst case scenario as if it's fact? Should we do that with the package you've offered now?

Oh by the way, care to take a guess at who was the first one give Buch a welcome call after he was traded to the Blues?

Yes, he came on a long injury layoff with no preseason when everyone else was in mid-season form/fitness in a condensed schedule with almost no practice time. And put up 14 points in 24 games. Nobody said he's at his highest ever value. But some folks around here want to pretend he's worth trash or some take-it-or-leave-it heist... well... at least they pretend to as they incessantly make trades for him and stick him on the top line.

You’re going to be very disappointed lol. Never realized how delusional Blue’s fan are but jesus. If his value is so high why didn’t Seattle draft him and then trade him??? Like he could have been taken FOR FREE and wasn’t.

When he gets moved for a bag of pucks I am going to @ you and laugh my ass off.

clearly he’s not worth nothing. but i just don’t believe the blues won’t be getting a first or anthony beauvillier from the islanders, and staple agrees, especially if the blues refuse to retain salary as it seems like they consistently do. the big cap hit and the injury risk is just a combo for a not phenomenal return imo.

half the trades for tarasenko on here are for beau, and ik the blues athletic writer mentioned him as a possible return as well

    1-

    tenor.gif?itemid=4713511

    2- (sigh)

So tired of hearing this hollow retort. Seattle preferred almost entirely cheaper players, and Dunn has at least as much value as Tarasenko, if not more right now. Besides, a trade and the expansion draft are not the same animal. Seattle didn't take Brendan Dillon, either, but that one-dimensional overpaid player got back two 2nds right after the draft.

3- I can't wait.... for you to magically forget all about this the second he does get traded (or starts scoring for fun in STL, for that matter).

1- Ehh no. Not by Blues fans, they are not. There are exceptions, but most don't make these crazy asks.

2- I remember he mentioned him in passing, but don;t remember exactly what he said. Either way, he's not on CF, so I wasn't talking about him.

Bellows is not the type of centre Detroit is looking for (we want playmakers) and our left side is full for the next decade.

Also the retention is for two years and we already have Pánik there for two years and we have to have more than one open spot since we have 6 veterans on expiring deals that could be traded at the deadline.

You'd have to offer Wahlström for this to be considered.

    Why should I?

You want to use our cap, I can ask any price I want. You can either take it or leave it but it's my decision how much I want to be paid.
