Switch Gauthier for Schneider and it’s possible. Probably will be another conditional pick too

Eichel isn’t moving for a lowball package like that

How about taking of the 2023 1st and switch Kakko for Kravtsov, would that work with Rangers? Because imo from the Sabres side of things it has to be Georgiev, young forward, right handed d prospect and a 1st. Sure you’d like give Schneider over Lundkvist, but what would the Rangers do with Lundkvist? You already have Trouba and Fox on right side for the long term future, so imo he is expandable.

Zero chance NYR is offering a package anywhere near that value. And if they are, congrats to BUF fans (finally).

Also, does Eichel to NYR actually make sense?

Fox and Zibanejad are up for renewal next summer. What’s the plan to keep them paid and happy? Paying a king’s ransom to BUF to get Eichel and still lose Zibanejad next year seems very, very expensive.

As a long term first line center Eichel would be an upgrade on Zibanejad and if thats what they want it makes sense to me. And if rangers dont wanna lose him for nothing they can always trade him at the tdl.

I would do it, but Chris Drury already said he wouldn’t.

Trading Zib at the deadline for picks would have to be the play I think to start the process of making space for Fox next summer. Even then, doesn’t NYR need more space if they did this deal?

I’m not saying it’s not worth it, or not possible. But as a CGY fan, I’ve been thinking about the implications of an Eichel trade on Gaudreau and Tkachuk extensions next summer. It’s very doable to manage that space. Seems like NYR would be even tighter and have to give up a great player via TDL trade or UFA (which CGY doesn’t have to do).

Trying to compare some of the offers.
