I really think Mikheyev and Engvall are gone. The Leafs didn't sign Kase to play on the fourth line, and I cant imagine the fourth line doesn't consist of atleast Brooks and Spezza. In addition to Mikheyev and Engvall, the Leafs were shopping Kerfoot.

Hopefully Mikheyev. Engvall can be buried in the minors for emergency depth.

With the roster you have they need to shed like 200k with the scratches in the ahl and thats easy enough to do with shuffling

Engvall will be buried in the minors. Mikheyev and Kerfoot are good penalty killers so they likely stay.

Outsider opinion here, but I think Mikheyev is the obvious choice. He’s a decent player, but he’s bumped out of the lineup with the Kase and Ritchie signings and could potentially fetch a decent return (prob like a third or a C prospect or something)

I hope they trade both and sign Galch at League minimum for depth.

They need to shed even more - Dubas will go with bigger Cap Space into the season for more flexibility during the season and at the trade deadline.

I have a weird feeling it’ll be Kerfoot. You create a lot more space with him out, I think return is higher on him & Leafs give his spot on the wing to someone like Nick Robertson or Joey Anderson. It’ll be interesting to see what happens.

I feel the same. Hes an interesting case as apparently the Leafs are shopping him, but I also think they would be content to keep him. The whole McCann situation tells me they have atleast some level of interest in keeping him. Mikheyev and Engvall are almost for sure out the door, the Leafs arent happy with them and better players can be played in their roles
