Blackhawks want to make the playoffs. Kerfoot is more proven. He's better defensively and he can play the penalty kill. Nylander has upside, but the Blackhawks are getting the better player.

Hawks don't have the cap space or the interest in Kerfoot.
Somebody will pay for him just not us.
