Description

If Columbus retains enough for Edmonton to sign Murray on LD for a year, I think this would be a good series of moves. But without enough cap difference, the 1st wouldn't be worth it. Koskinen is the better regular season goalie really, just Korpisalo has shown up in the playoffs whereas Koski never has.

3.1M in cap savings still doesn't feel like it warrants a 1st rounder in my opinion. Even if added Turris, that's still only 4.7M. Marleau was making 6M and was traded for a 1st, I'd want at least the same. If we can clear another 2M or so, that would be Tatar money no?

Yeah but the Marleau trade didn't bring back a near similar quality player along with cap reduction. Again, near similar - Koski showing better reg seasons, Korpi better postseason overall. But still getting a serviceable player as opposed to the Marleau deal. IMO Tatar is now not that necessary with the added depth upfront already. A better 3LD is more important to allow the pairings to be fluid depending on performance.
