Really effective at obliterating all offense while he's on the ice. Exactly what you want out of a 4th line PK guy. Would have liked him as a vet addition in Ottawa.

Signing a defensive forward for league minimum. Even if he's a healthy scratch more often than not, it will still be a good deal. I don't expect that to happen, although at his age he could be injured a couple of times during the season.

On the downside, he also obliterates the offense of whatever team he's playing for... I still can't believe he put up 40 points with BOS.

I believe has was better offensively than he is now and he played with Marchand & Pastrnak for a while that year so it was easier to rack up points

He'd be a good fit for adding defense and stability to the Jets. I'm surprised he was signed at $750k, that's really good value for a good locker room veteran.

Thanks for reminding me! Apparently both Bergy and Krejci were injured for parts of the year, allowing either Nash or Backes to play as a top-six C.
