Yes I think has a lot more value than most Sabres fans do but this is too much. I do t have faith that the Sharks are a contender and I think Eichel is out for the season for his surgery so that 2022 1st will be a very high one in a deep draft.

I think the sabres take this, they supposedly had eklund as top ranked forward.

If eichel gets traded and has the surgery soon, his agent insists he will be ready to start the season. Thats the surgery he wants, the disc replacement, as opposed to the normal one that has closer to a full year recovery. This whole injury has become terribly politicized, but i do believe that eichel will try to prove that he was right and come back soon. Plus i dont think san jose would be the kind of place that eichel would be unhappy with.

Sabres should take this, good potential to land #1 overall in 2022 or 2023

That's a fair deal, so better than 99% of the Eichel trades here.

Buffalo definitely takes this but don’t think Sharks would do it. Injury history of Eichel makes it pretty risky to give up those assets

Sharks don’t do this because they aren’t a contender.

I would forever completely remove my fandom as a Sharks fan if this were to happen and find a new team to cheer for.

Can't begin to describe how absolutely terrible a trade this would be....

I wouldn't trade Eklund for Eichel 1-for-1 (there's not just value/futures here -- there's cap implications, neck situation).

I would stay a trillion miles away from this I wouldn’t trade any of these pieces alone no matter what.

Sharks have bailed time after time on a rebuild trying to stretch their window. It’s dead and over. Trying again would turn this team into the sabres.

> Eklund

That alone makes this an easy no from the Sharks. And even if there was an alternate trade that did not include Eklund, who's to say Eichel will be healthy and not make a scene if he wants to leave? We're much better off staying away from him and letting another team deal with him.

So you want San Jose to give up their two best prospects AND their next two first round picks - both of which are likely to be top ten picks - for a player with a history of injury, an uncertain future, and a boat anchor of a contract that takes up an eighth of the cap?

No thanks, we've already got one of those.

Your not getting a fair deal at this point. NHL teams arent gonna offer anything close to fair.

Right, that's why Jack won't be traded anytime soon if at all.
