I mean i know you are putting him out there at a 7th to show you shouldnt have signed him, but I think the wings would be happy with Ritchie, so if that was offered, 100% accepted

You may have improved your cap situation but not the roster. You have definitely hurt your ability to sign ufa’s.

Why do you want him gone?

I will agree with slow. Certainly not the greatest of skaters in many respects. But the leafs didn’t sign him to be fast.

because he is slow and doesnt do anything at even strength. He stands in front of the net on the powerplay and bangs pucks in or pucks hit him. He is a liability on the ice outside of a 10ft radius around the offensive net

Speed means nothing

That’s not why Dubas brought him in

He brought him in for grit and getting them eliminated in round 1 again

This is so dumb lmao. Dude just admit your wrong GMs don't trade players right after signing them out of free agency. It makes them look terrible and they just use them for the trade value they bring. Ritchie had 15 goals last year in a shortened season, thats a 20-25 goal pace. The Leafs need the LW depth. He brings grit and although he isn't Hyman he can bring some elements of that game. He may not be the most solid LW in the NHL, but this team would be worse without him

yeah no kidding they dont trade them right after signing them, thanks for the heads up on that. I suppose you probably also think hes worth more than a 7th gee never thought of that....

they would not be worse without him, they would have additional cap to bring in someone better, weather thats through a trade or free agency

Look at free agency, who is better? Tatar? I mean he doesn't show up in the playoffs it seems so it would be another first round exit if that's what you want.

Look at the rest of their roster, who brings grit? Simmonds? He will most surely be playing 4th line minutes so that's simply not enough. You even have him scratched. You can't win only on skill, recent cup winners have proven that. They need some sort of offensive grit.

Now look at trades, why give up assets to bring in someone like Ritchie who may just be slightly better and probably more expensive? It makes no sense.

Of course it makes no sense, did you think this was a serious post of "I truely think this is what they should do? trade a guy they just signed for absolutely nothing"
Cant knock Tatars playoff success though without looking at Ritchies and seeing the same thing, not that I think Tatar is a good fit either.

I hope Im very much wrong, but like last season with Thornton I hope Im not sitting here saying I told you so when its all said and done

They need grit. Ritchie brings that. You trade him out they have basically none on offence
