Berdin as backup plus some moves

Created by: Wpgman
Team: 2021-22 Winnipeg Jets
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 1, 2021
Published: Aug. 1, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
With 5 veterans on the back end, Berdin should be the back up this year. Next year we should have Heinola and Samberg in the line up so get Berdin time now.

Does Perfetti play in the big league? Would take a lot of pressure off of Management.

btw Copp and Niku are gone

It won't be Detroit's first but if you want to give us both of Detroit's seconds then where do we sign?

I'd call that a lose-lose-lose

Jets lose a very good top 6F

Wings lose 2 high end 2nd's [that you hope become Copp in 3-5 years] but Copp can't carry his own line and wings have very little proven talent

Copp loses by playing for a tire fire team for at least 2 more years

Wait until the LTIR comes back into effect and then sign all three of them

Unfortunately Copp is not a top 6F with the Jets and because of the cap the Jets have to trade him. He signs with the Wings for a contract he wants and would be where he wants to be. IF the Wings want Copp it will cost them.

My lineup has Little on LTIR. I don't see where we get the money to sign Pionk/Copp/Stanley without having some wiggle room. I think Pionk will get the same deal Morrissey got.

Well when I start one Little isn’t on the LTIR by default when it does that takes 5M+ off our cap so it leaves us with 12M to sign them

Detroit will talk to you about Copp.

Would you want Namestnikov as part payment? Possibly with retainment too, cheaper and more versatile than Bozak.

Wings pass, their top 6 is already better than copp and we aren't paying 2 earlier picks for a bottom 6 player.

He’s worth a contender first. The problem though is you’re acquiring RFA rights with one year of team control for a player who wants to be compensated as a top 6 player. He played well last year but has been buried down the depth chart and Winnipeg doesn’t have the cap for his demands. It’s also been rumored he wants out so not a ton of leverage which is why we’ve seen players like Schmidt moved for a third. I’d give OP’s proposal if it came with a decent extension otherwise it’s not worth it.

LMFAO on what planet is Copp a top 6F? Copp is a 3C/Winger at best and no 3C/Winger has ever returned a 1st round pick.
