Risky 3C choice. Would rather sign Donato

Not sure where my comment went but dubas wouldn’t be moving kerfoot for a 4th liner and adding a 5th.

Abramov is certainly not our 3c. Maybe kampf 3c and Brooks at 4c.

I would try going for Domi. kid would give heart and soul on that 3C and proly re-sign for 3 x 4M. Kerfoot + Mikheyev + 4th for retaining 1,5M ?

Problem is, although I like domi he just isn’t good. Think Toronto is going for a shutdown 3rd line. I mean even a 1 for 1 with kerfoot and domi retained to match kerfoot seems like a loss.


I would wait to see what he wants in ufa next season. Think we have a full boat of heart and soul guys this year. Dubas obviously has at least one more move left to make this team cap compliant. I’m just not sure if it will involve bringing another roster player in.

So the Jackets exposed Domi over Robinson to Seattle, but are now going to trade him (Robinson) away to the Leafs for Kerfoot????

Kerfoot is a center, which they need and a better player. Leafs need the cap room and a player with mid 6 potential

That is my point. They knew that Seattle would not take Domi since he is UFA in 2022 and out until at least Dec or Jan with shoulder surgery. They value Robinson very highly…And protected him since he has huge up side and is probably more value to the CBJ now (as a winger) than Kerfoot would be as a center.

Kerfoot is a middling to bottom line center. Colorado gave up on him, and Toronto wants to give up on him, but no one wants him. Just look at all the Toronto ACGM posts trying to unload Kerfoot for something of more value. CBJ will keep Robinson and address their center issues elsewhere. Another 3rd/4th line center is not going to help.

They didn’t take domi because he sucks and his contract is horrible. Cbj was hoping they would take him. This says nothing about Robinson.
