I think Chicago and Carolina swapping reclamation projects makes sense. Gardiner for Connolly? Maybe Gardiner for Lucic if the goal is to find a guy that ups his game for the playoffs?

I’d personally pass on both. Connolly isn’t bad but Canes need some higher end talent in the top 6 to push Nino down to third line. Lucic really misses the mark for me, yeah he’s tough but I don’t really see any value there. Unload Gardiner to the Yotes with a second attached and go after guys like Tara, Tuna, Zucker, Forsberg, Rakell, etc if I had my way
