Description
I know I'm over the cap and missing some depth players, but for the startinf roster this is what I would do for the 2022-23 season. Pretty disappointed with the Penguins offseason so far, was really expecting them to get more physical players and better goaltending. I don't think we will make a run with Jarry being our starter, so I'm expecting to make our last push with this core starting in 2022. Sorry if I under/overvalued some players with the contracts, but this is my idea for the team.

I would have traded these guys this summer to get rid of their contracts going into next season. Make more room to re-sign Malkin and Letang, plus Jarry I don't think is the goalie of the future. Kraken just a placeholder for any team that would take them.

    Additional Details:
Depends on how Marino plays this season. If he plays like he did 2 years ago I would definitely keep him, but if he plays similar to last season I would consider a trade.

Detroit passes, And Aleksander Barkov gets at least 7 x $10.500,000 on the open market.

Value-wise this is a good offer for Detroit but with Hronek and Seider already on RD Marino isn't that important.

Detroit is too good on RD already to pay so much for someone that may end up as a 3rd pair defender. Matheson may be a better offer but he's older, more expensive, and not as good. You'd have to up the offer in that case.

Detroit declines, value good but Marino a bad fit.

If you need to dump Matheson this off-season Detroit will give you Oesterle for Matheson + Légaré + Zohorna + Clang.
