laugh A delusional Leafs and sens fan thinking that Lafreinere+Blais gets Jack Eichel at $1,500,000 for 5 more years. Doubt that even gets Eichel at full salary let alone at $1,500,000 x 5.

Eichel's not even getting dealt in the east, He's 100% going to the west from what Adams is reporting.

Eichel is a top 10 player in the league at the most premium position, #1 center. He is a franchise player, he's 24 years old, and he's a captain. He was also chosen 2nd overall after McJesus, and Eichel would have been 1st overall in most other years including Laf's year. Laf will not be close to the player Eichel is, and even if he did also become a top 10 player, he will do so at wing, which is obviously not as good as center. I would not trade Eichel for Laf straight up, and its not close.

Trigger responding, guaranteeing what's going to happen, running with every headline, thinking we're giving up future beast Laf! Slow down and type "retained" if that's what you mean and also with the haha's...

Reading this thread all I have to say is Eichel > Laf. Even looking at rookie year vs rookie year. Eichel had 56p and Laf was on pace for 30p. “Future beast” based off what his draft position. Kid has skill but I doubt he comes close to being elite. He’s not in the generational tier guys like Ovechkin Crosby MC David scoring 100+ In a rookie year. He wasn’t even in the Eichel / Matthews tier scored 55-60+Points. Kids has a lot of work to do… stop glorifying players and diminishing actual established players like Eichel. It’s embarrassing

This trade is Buffalo getting fleeced... Eichel >> Lafreniere
Eichel is also getting 1.5M retained for 5 years

Lafreniere can be the new face of the franchise in Buffalo. NYR get a player who can help them make a legit push for the cup.

It’s hard to score 100 points as a rookie when you’re stuck on the third line because the coach is a clown

Wait! You would give up Zegras+ for Hypeal!?? Now make future NYR teams and tell me where his giant cap and lackluster leadership fits in, while giving up young studs, depleting our depth, waving bye to the near equal and cheaper Zib. Yuk. It's all moot till we know the results from his adadictomi lol

He would never score 100 points( as a rookie) bc that’s something an elite level player is capable of doing. Not bc where he was playing in the lineup. No doubt this kid will be great but people think bc a guy was great vs kids it’s immediately guarantees success vs grown men in the best league in the world. Imo he’s years away from being the guy you think he’ll be if he ever becomes that guy. Guys like Ovechkin and Backstrom were miles better when they were his age

Zibanajad is gonna get Panarin money when his contract expires. He's not gonna be cheaper unless they give him 8 years and sign him until he's 38.

Again... Cap is everything, I guess depth helps too. I'll take Laf, the extra 30m cap in the next 5 years and his neck! Thanks

Swedes normally sign fair deals. At worst he’s looking at Backstrom money imo

Did you watch all the rangers games this year? Because I did and he definitely didn’t start on the top line he got to play on it occasionally and when he did he got points then the coach would drop him back down

I wouldn’t. Your best players is what 29 years old? Your beta chance to win is now imo especially since you missed the mark with KK who isn’t what I would want from a #2 overall pick. Not that other guys from that draft are killing it so I guess my point is even though you have young talent now is the time to go for a cup. Other teams are at their end like Penguins and Caps and this puts you in a position to win for the next 5 years

2 Draisaitl
3 Matthews
4 MacKinnon
5 Scheifele
6 Crosby
7 Barkov
8 Malkin
9 bergy
10 ROR
