Not that Devils should trade for Zucker but if they were as in this instance, the pick would be going the other way, to NJ not to PIT.

Let em get this straight: You not only think the Blues should trade Tarasenko for that sad pile of trash, but you also think they should retain 3M to do it?

Get serious, man.

Let me get this straight, you think Tarasenko is going to snatch a return of a 30 goal scorer. There is not a team that will give you a 1st or a good prospect for him.

1- And where exactly did you see me say anything of the sort? Put down the strawman.

2- Even if you were right about that, there are light years between "a 1st or a good prospect" and the burning pile of sewage you offered while expecting retention.

Retention aside, what's the value you expect? Wedgewood is an upgrade over Husso,2nd is likely to be high. maybe improve on the defenseman and you got a deal.

1- Heh. Wedgewood is absolutely not an upgrade on Husso. He's not even an upgrade on Lindgren. Wedgewood has zero value, guys like him are a nickel a dozen.

2- Hahah what? The 2nd two years from now is too high, ya think? Bro. Cmon.

3- Nope.

Just to chime in - from what I've seen on these boards there seems to be a general consensus that Jesper Boqvist and a 2022 2nd gets it done without retention.

And I'd happily go for that. I've said it a million times. Hell, I'd go for that with a 3rd. What I would not go for is an overtly trash offer for a guy they then pair with Hughes.
