Not gonna lie, St Louis should be adding the pick, not Carolina. Senko has played 30 games in the last 2 seasons combined. Niederreiter put up more POINTS than that last year alone. This also doesn't account for Nino being one of the best defensive even-strength forwards in the NHL and a fantastic play driver.

100% this. It also bugs me how everyone says the Canes are "one top-6 fwd short" but continually ship out one of our top-6 fwds for Senko. Doesnt make much sense to me.

Trading nino doesn’t make sense. The canes should be adding another forward in addition to nino to create more scoring depth. The goal would be to push nino to the 3rd line if we get another top 6 winger. Swapping nino for senko doesn’t change much imo

Nino isn't a top 6 winger, he's best suited to the 3rd line, but the rest of your point is perfect.
