Heh. I'm sure you know Zegras would need to be in there.

Heh. Ducks aren't doing it. Sabres aren't winning a jack Eichel trade. Adams just needs to pull the trigger.

He has a list of 6 teams interested and hes not running out of time?? He has a whole year until his NMC kicks in then another 4 years of eichel under contract... The ball is in adams court and if ana doesnt offer one of zegras/mctavish/drysdale then they will go to one of the other 6 teams

While true, they will get at least 1 bluechip piece for him. Either McTavish, Drysdale, Zegras would need to be involved for Adams to consider it, or he'll go elsewhere. For example, Carolina have been linked with Eichel and have a very deep prospect pool, and they could pull the trigger offering up more than this, and it would be a better fit.

And I'm sure you know that since Eichel trade speculation first surfaced, GMBM has repeatedly stated that neither Drysdale nor Zegras is going anywhere. Which doesn't make it a guarantee, but sure lowers the odds.

Do we think Eichel is playing another game for the Sabres though? I get that his NMC doesnt kick in until next year and that he has term left but I think he needs to be gone by training camp or the price tag is going to drop. There's no rush for the teams enquiring either and, in fact, alot of them are moving on because they need to build a team and can't plan for a $10 million buffer.

They need Eichel to get healthy and play some games if they want to get what they're asking for.

This is much different than the Duchene situation.

He has options, and I don't think Anaheim will be the team. Keep Comtois and finish last in scoring again

Yeah, I don't disagree at all. Eichel certainly isn't making it easy on Buffalo, but they've either got to rush and pull the trigger in the next month (Which is getting harder because of what you said above), or wait until the draft next year when he's hopefully healthy. An in-season trade is a near impossibility because of the cap hit.

If I'm Adams, I'm sitting down with Eichel's representative ASAP, mainly to tell them to the shut the heck up. I get that the relationship is fractured, but Buffalo isn't going to trade him until the value is there, and them meddling in the process is affecting his value.

Not overly concerned about scoring at this point. Developing the kids, and continuing to add young cost controlled assets through trades/drafting should be the focus. It's how rebuilds work. You make major additions when the time is right, not just for the sake of doing it.

Ask Toronto fans about the Phil Kessel trade. You rush a rebuild you end up having someone who can score a bunch, but also end up with a roster of player who can't support him, leading to giving up major assets like the Seguin/Hamilton picks. It's not the right time to be blowing the prospect wad to get Eichel.

As I stated months ago Jack probably won't be traded this year, if at all, Adams might hold him to his entire contract.

Or he doesn’t. Jack Eichel is under contract with the Buffalo Sabres.

Love the rationale on this site:

“The Sabres have to get value for Eichel and trade him now. Bc the Sabres have to trade him now and are up against it, here’s 50% value.”

“Jack hates it in Buffalo. You have to trade him now before his NMC, bc then he might not approve a trade!”

100% agree. Glad I'm not a Sabres fan. Lol

Great comparison. I agree, I like what Anaheim has done to this point. They've got some really good young pieces.

You're right. NMC means nothing anymore with Eichel. He wants out. Whatever team brings an offer to the table that buffalo is willing to accept, jack will waive just so he can move on and get the **** out of there. This will drag on. Not happening this year.

My point was that his offer is inadequate, not that Anaheim might include Zegras.

It's an objective fact, not an opinion, thay they finished last in scoring this year, and are staring at being bottom 3 again so not really sure what you're getting at.
