Rakell's lack of term and the movement of good assets to acquire him makes this pretty unappealing for NJ. There are too many question marks going into this season to acquire RR for a (hopeful) middle-6 winger and that high of a pick. I'd rather try and go after him once his contact is up at the end of the season. I think there are plenty of other teams that could use a 'rental' 20+ goal scorer in their top-6.

I'd honestly say both teams decline. There's really not much point in retaining on Rico for 3 years if you're not getting anything back. Might as well keep him, and let him eat up some of the tough minutes as a buffer for Zegras. Same deal with Manson-If you can't get good value for him (Which Drouin isn't right now), then keep him to eat minutes to ease Drysdale in.

Only trade I'd be into here is the Rakell trade, though I'm fair certain at that price NJ might want an extension in place. The Pens trade offers some potential value, I just don't think creating cap space for them should be a huge priority right now, unless there's a pick or prospect coming back. Not saying Zucker doesn't offer some upside, especially when he's healthy, I just don't think it's a priority right now.

This is reasonable. Yeah Henrique is 31, but his numbers are still strong, and at $4MM it's cheap for a 2C, and reasonable for a 3C. Henrique is an upgrade over Tierney, and JBrown is replaceable.
