With the assumption that Jack Hughes and Ty Smith would be untouchable, I think you start with your 3rd best youngster, then add from there. Maybe something like 2022 1st+one of Holtz/Mercer+Foote?+something.

Not that Eichel in NJ makes a ton of sense anyway. Keep going with the youth movement, see where you are this time next year, then make the needed changes.

I think the "youth movement" is actually why this makes a ton of sense. Eichel is only 25, would be their best player and but could also be seen as a mentor to the younger guys. Kind of reminds me of Panarin to NYR or Tavares to TOR

I'm not gonna comment on the Eichel deal. Sharagnovich will get around that contract though and it'll be a steal for sure.

If NJ wanted Eichel I don't know why they wouldn't add Hughes or hischer to it. With one of those 2 pieces you only have to add a small bit. Instead of scrounging 10 pieces you are okay with parting. Seems silly.

With Hischier & Hughes in the middle and Eichel's risk factors (health uncertainty + enormous contract) is why they wouldn't want him. Why take the risk?

Interesting... I've been assuming they will squeeze a bridge deal in here at a value similar to Bratt, Wood et al ... say 3 × 2.75.

I'd assume a "show me" deal 1 yr at 2.75-3.25 but the Devils really seem to believe in him so I'm a expecting long-term steal.
