NO!!!!!!!!!!!

Dvorak
46.34cf% 46.38ff% 48.41xgf% .55ppg
Kuzy
51.26cf% 51.00ff% 53.71xgf% .70ppg .... in a yearwhere he had COVID and considered "terrible"

a bottom 6 wingers doesnt make up for the skill difference

Kuzy for Dvorak + 1st

MacLellan came out and said they never actively tried to trade him. They listened on offers, most likely, but you don't move out a top six center for a forward that did not have a good 2021 season. Kuznetsov had a somewhat down year this year and was still miles ahead of Dvorak. If they did this package, the Caps would probably miss the playoffs.

thats fine.... i would rather keep the better player than trade him for pennies on the dollar. FYI Buffalo is also struggling to trade Eichel doesnt mean he sucks/ not valuable... maybe Washington is waiting for the BIG fish to get traded ? would be wise to maximize Kuzy value if Eichel is off the market , right?

Elliott just came out sayinf that he doesnt think kuzy will be able to get moved… but with that being said the caps are still looking to make an interesting move for flexibility… and what is gmbm suppose to say “yes we are looking to trade him” and trap himself in a corner similar to the sabers rn? Im pretty sure gmbm was lookint to trade kuzy but no one wants him with all the off ice drama and effort

There are other options for contracts to move if the Caps want more flexibility under the cap ceiling. Schultz is on an expiring contract at $4M and the Caps have four NHL quality RHD right now. Or they can choose to move Hagelin to a team that needs PK help and pull up Jonsson-Fjallby. Long story short, the Caps don't have any options in the organization to plug in for Kuznetsov, and outside of netting someone like Monahan, there are no viable options in the trade market that keep the Caps in the playoff conversation.

Time to push your chips in on Kuznetsov staying and hopefully having a great year. If the Caps don't have 2018 Kuznetsov, they're not going anywhere, but they're also not going anywhere if they have Dvorak as their 2C.
