Don't think other Rangers fans will like that Dvorak proposal. I would want quality back if we're trading Dvorak (more like a top prospect in return), but believe it's difficult to say no to this as the value definitely favours us.

Yeah, I gave up similar amounts for Monahan and got roasted for it. Send a 1st and Jones and I doubt anyone beats that.

Gauthier is more hit than miss, at this stage.

Georgiev is more of a glorified 1B. If he doesn't get moved this Offseason, he'll be getting moved in the not so distant future now that Shesterkin is the main man.

Jones is a solid Defensive Prospect, but down the Depth Chart of a strong Ranger pool of other D Prospects.

Dvorak's Contract is great. So with everything else combined, you need a 1st in there to account for it.

On top of the fact that I see him being in high demand, you have to overpay a bit to come out on top above the other suitors. And considering every piece given up is easily replaced, it doesn't bother me at all.

Lot of rumors have Boston interested in him. And Minnesota always lurking around for help at C. With that low Cap hit, I think many teams have called about Dvorak. Need to up the ante a bit.

Not less assets, less valuable assets. Arizona needs d prospects so it should be easier to make a deal with them

With Contact? Not likely. Skating is nice, but you're going to take some Hits. That's where the problems could arise.

Uh Eichel is way better than Dvorak and is making only 500k more (50% retained).

And if you're so concerned about health, Eichel is skating right now. If he isn't fully healthy, you can just put him on LTIR and wait till he's healthy. He's under contract for the next 5 years

Am I putting him on LTIR for maybe 5 weeks? Or am I putting him on LTIR for the better part of the next 5 years?

Dvorak would be an average to below average 2c..... you could get Lars Eller for less and he would be better.

Dvorak
46.34cf% 46.38ff% 48.41xgf% .55ppg or 45p/82gp
Eller
55.09cf% 54.12ff% 57.01xgf% .52ppg 43p/82gp

Slightly less points but way better all around

He's going to be fully healthy some time during the 2021-22 season. If not, he'll be back for the start of the 2022-23 season. Not for the better part of the next 5 years

Only when he's on the ice.

To be factored into this equation: Dvorak's value over 82 games vs. Eichel's value over ?? games.

Everybody was hopeful abut Vladimir Tarasenko and Oscar Klefbom, too.

If that were the case, I feel a deal would have been done already. This is a serious neck injury, with a very unique procedure being put on the table in an attempt to fix it.

I feel there is the potential for more long term repercussions than many people expect.

Tarasenko had multiple shoulder surgeries which is affecting his health.
Klefboms injury is way more serious than Eichel's.

Of course, Eichel still needs to get surgery, but there is a much higher chance he gets back to full health
So saying that you rather have Dvorak over Eichel 50% retained (like the initial statement is saying), is really dumb. Especially since Eichel would cost 500k more but is miles better than Dvorak. Plus, I much rather take the risk of Eichel getting back to full health over Dvorak

Sabres aren't letting Eichel get surgery which is why it isn't done already. The Sabres are handling the whole Eichel injury situation poorly

Dvorak is healthy. Eichel, as far as I am concerned, is medically compromised.

When healthy, Eichel is far better than Dvorak. Without question.

But when the injury bug strikes (in any sport), it doesn't matter how good you WERE. It matters how good you will be from that point on.

In my mind, there is nothing dumb about paying a smaller price for a relatively sure thing, than to give up the leverage you have on Buffalo and pay a HEFTY sum for damaged goods at half price.

Where do you keep getting this "Eichel at 50% retained" idea from? I read it as 50% game appearance or 50% of his effective performance level. There's nothing in the Team Explanation about the possibility of Buffalo retaining 50% and, as you and I both know, there is no comparison possible there because the odds of Buffalo retaining 50% are 1 in 50 million.

I was reading it was 50% like 50% retained

Saying that they rather have Dvorak over Eichel (with Eichels injury concerns.
