Fixing the Centre Depth

Description
It would be great to have Domi back in MTL. Domi played best with Shaw and I feel as though Anderson is like Shaw, if not better. You'd have to put a defensive winger with them like Lehkonnen, Armia, or even Toffoli because Domi and Anderson lack defense but it could work.

As for the Dvorak trade, it's another trade option. I would either do the Domi trade or the Dvorak trade, not both.

Additional Details:
Both Byron and Domi are likely to miss the first bit of the season with surgery recovery. Domi is worth less than buchnevich so I think the value is fair.

That is a brilliant strategy...Try and improve your Center depth by trading with a team that has even FEWER true centers than Montreal.
Good luck with that.

But Byron has proven, three times, to be totally worthless. The 3rd and 4 th may not cover him. Domi for Schueneman??

Byron is not worthless. He's an asset on the ice.
It's only his contract which is prohibitive.
Even if someone is considered a cap dump, there's a distinction between players who have something to offer and players who have negative performance value.

Yeah, he didn't play much centre with them this year and he's already on the trade block. It's not as if they're trying hard to protect him.

Byron is still a very useful player, just expensive. He'd be an asset they can flip if they retain half.

CBJ played him back at center towards the end of the season, and his game actually picked up the last 15 or so of the season.
The reason they left him unprotected is primarily that they knew with 1 year left on his contract, and the fact he is out until at least NOV/DEC due to shoulder surgery, that the Kraken would NOT take him.
(this gave CBJ the opportunity to protect Robinson, who they definitely wanted to keep, but not pay a draft pick for them NOT to take him).

Cause he's expensive still has a few years of contract left. I'm not saying he's a gamebreaking talent but he's still useful. He still has worth, but it's probably closer to 1.5mil, not 3.4. There are similar players who are cheaper.

But it's literally already been reported this week that CBJ is shopping him. So they're okay giving him up, even though their centre depth is low. Friedman reported it too. They don't think he fits so it would make sense for a team needing a centre to trade for him.
