More value just benching Eichel for five years and making him suffer for being a petulent child than doing this deal.

Counter: Tkachuk for Bryson a 5th and a 7th.

Buffalo won't retain, and even without retention this is not nearly enough. Eichel deal starts with Sanderson and 2 firsts imo

The package is horrific, the last thing buffalo needs is D, the rest is nothing, and no way they retain for that

I surprised an Ottawa fan proposed this. Just keep all those picks and prospects and next season spend that 7m Eichel money on a UFA.
Despite what Buffalo fans want.....this is an overpay and eventually hurt the Sens.

I’m sure they understand but why comment? Obviously you either massively overate the Sens players or underrate Eichel. Either-way there’s probably no convincing you that your comment is completely homer.

I love the two 7th round picks included, and dumping slow footed Tierney, and oft injured Logan Brown. This is basically Thomson, 1st, 2nd, 2nd, and stuff, for Eichel. Pretty bad offer.

I have to disagree. Especially considering Ottawa’s a divisions rival on the rise, why would Buffalo trade him there, especially, for anything less than top dollar +? They’re better off LTIR’ing him and waiting for New York or LA or someone outside the Atlantic to bite than trading him within the division

The division rival argument goes both ways, so it's really just a media talking point. Buffalo doesn't want to face Eichel, but Ottawa is making it's rival better with the return package, just a different timeline.

My issue is, how can you "start with" Sanderson and two 1st's and still meet the player requirements Buffalo wants? The package becomes this huge siphon of talent. You might not realize just how good Sanderson is, but then adding two 1st's, and a top6 centre, no team is giving that. People throw around that phrase, "starts with", but it can't be followed up with a ridiculous amount of talent. That kind of trade just isn't happening, with any team.
