Dvorak

Created by: JacobLyons
Team: 2021-22 San Jose Sharks
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 2, 2021
Published: Aug. 2, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
That 3rd could even be a 4th or 5th, but Arizona gets back a 2nd that they’re stockpiling, and can begin to do so next year, a center who’s still very young and can grow into a middle six role, but will likely peak as a third line center, and an even younger right handed scorer who could also be a middle six scorer but will likely peak at the 3rd line. Arizona only has to pay 2 million in combined salary in this deal.

Really underwhelming, don't think Dvorak is some star or anything but there's nothing here that interests the Coyotes other then the 2nd but that's not till 2023 and you have them sending a 2022 3rd which will be an early pick in that round, Arizona easily declines this.

Dvorak is a real tough valuation. But I find it very hard to believe that the sharks could make an offer that wouldn’t be easily surpassed by any other team in the hunt.

The other deal that could be proposed would be something like
To Arizona:
Ozzy Weisblatt
2nd Round Pick

To San Jose:
Christian Dvorak

I think that’s much closer. The kicker for me is whether they insist on a first. Which wouldn’t be too big an ask IMO.

We aren't necessarily in a position to give up first-round picks, but I'd be comfortable packaging another prospect on top of Wiesblatt and 2nd round pick. Would Robins or Chekhovich be of interest to the Yotes?

This is the reason I think the sharks easily get outbid. I really do think Ozzy and a 2nd is a decent offer. I just think there are plenty of teams that would turn that 2nd into a 1st.

I’m just spitballing here so take it with a grain of salt.
