Check out the interview with Dea.. Basically said Eichel could mature to be a good leader, but he ain't. Talked about how Crosby would be the first player to reach out to you when you join the Pens, and Eichel ain't one of those types of leader. Don't know what he was going for in that statement but if you read between the lines it looks like Eichel is a "Me, Myself an I" type of guy. Maybe that's what keeping a trade from happening. Buffalo wants the moon, the clubs are saying "I don't think so Tim..."

Would hope that this whole saga ends and they just take what is good for Buffalo, Habs or another team..

Why can't Eichel just be a good player? Maybe he's not a leadership guy, I doubt guys like Malkin, Kucherov, etc are seen as good leaders but I'd want them on my team

Don't know about Kucherov, but Malkin has been pointed out has being a very good leader in the room. He let's Crosby take his place, but he's there to put players in their place when they enter the team.

Eichel has the C ... If he doesn't want to be a good leader, he just needs to give it to someone who is. I'm guessing you don't know the role of a captain inside teams, once you have that letter, you better own up to it.

Honestly so hard to say without being in the room. Who's to say he even wanted to be captain? Doesn't help being on the worst team since being drafted as well. Wasn't ROR a bad leader as well?

Kucherov are you kidding me he doesn't say much but when he does the entire team listens his work ethic is unparalleled.

no buffalo is asking for 4 first rounds (value) you gave us a 1st, jesperi who is a younger mittlestadt , drouin who is strugglin. and romanov who can potentially be very helpful

total value max is 2 firsts and a 2nd rd out of this trade

Right, not a leader in the way the post I was responding to was referring to. Obviously people listen to the best players/hardest workers

Two 3rd overall picks, a first round pick and a young, promising defenseman

you cant base their value on their draft position it's based on production/potential . Drouin and kk had 20pts a piece that's not 1st rd value. Romanov and the first are the keys to this having a chance.

I don't who Montreal would have to get rid of next season to make this deal work. If Weber returns well that's overall 7m in cap spending and Suzuki might look like he deserves a big raise.
I really don't mind the trade proposed. But Drouin's 5.5m X 2 just could be a cap dump.

Either reatain 50% of his salary for a dealine dump or, he averages 40-50 points a season and is a good winger on the Sabres for 2 years.

This haven't happen because Buffalo doesn't allow teams to look into Eichel's medical records...

www.tsn.ca/buffalo-sabres-jack-eichel-new-york-rangers-1.1671341%3ftsn-amp

They are asking the moon for a player who could never play again if his neck surgery is unsuccessfull. No one is interested to buy blindly damaged goods.

If he plays the entire season maybe . Whether or not you found his second leaving his team justifiable. The first was completely immature selfishness.
Show me a really good hustle back check by Drouin cause I've seen a lot of Drouin games in his career and don't remember one.

Larry Brooks is a twat and just a mouthpiece for the Rangers. Every thing he says should be ingested with a pound of salt. If teams gave serious offers (not implying this is or isn’t, just saying if they do) they would get access to the records. Saying that Buffalo will hide them from a team that is trading for him is ridiculous and on brand for that guy.

crosby and malkin came into a culture with great leadership. mario was there. they were nurtured by him. who did buffalo have? god bless brain gionta, but he's not a mario type leader. eichel had no support imo. on top of that, the team has been horrible since he came in. obviously that's going to make you self centered. plus the way the team has restricted him from getting the surgery he wants, what makes you think the team hasn't restricted him from other activities off the ice in the past?

weber's not returning. it was pretty obvious after that playoff run. maybe a miracle happens, but when the gm publically says he may never play again, thats a huge thing to say. even if there was a slim chance he comes back, the gm wouldn't have said that
