Rust is heading into his last year of his deal. The Penguins/Hextall should move Rust for picks and/or prospects. Rust can sign a long term deal with NJD. He is a veteran of 2 Stanley Cups and is solid in both ends of the ice. With Hughes, can can score 25-30 goals, just like he is in PIT, while teaching the youth in NJ what it takes to win.

Pens can’t decline fast enough. Take rust out and then I’d do the trade. The pens are in win now mode. No reason they should trade a top 6 RW on an amazing contract and top 4 D for a 3rd liner and not even get a first back. Much less to a divisional opponent. Could get much better offers elsewhere. However the pens are looking at re-signing rust anyway.

Sounds like NJ is taking a back seat on Tarasenko... maybe they circle back near camp if price drops.

NJ is not in on Pettersson anymore. No where to put him with Graves, Ty, Siegenthaler there already and Bahl and Okhotyuk as call ups needing a look at LD.
