eichel is the wrong guy

Team Explanation
i think hertl makes a lot more sense for the rangers currently than eichel. less assets to lose in a trade, plus more flexibility to resign zibanejad as well. bonino comes back as a replacement for chytil in the middle six, who i would hate to give up but seems like the key piece to make this deal work. more value could be given up in the form of additional prospects or picks, or maybe a higher value prospect like zac jones. the strome trade could involve any team, and potential salary retention to a playoff team like vegas in exchange for a better return.

hertl gives us a legitimate 1A/1B duo down the middle, playing well both ways and on special teams. i would have loved to keep chytil as a 3C and to learn from hertl, but bonino would be a great 3C for the next two years. this lineup gives us a high-energy bottom 6 that would be decent in both zones. reaves would definitely get into some games on the 4th line, and i think barron should become a regular sooner rather than later. i split up the pairs on D to give trouba and miller some help with rock-solid defensive partners that can cover for their pinches. laf gets first line power play time, with kakko and kravtsov on the second unit and nils in the left face off circle to tee up one-timers. i think this penalty kill could be top in the league, with a third rotation of forwards in barron/rooney-kakko, and nemeth rotating in on defense.

Hertl is not on the block. Bonino was just signed. your offer is bountiful but it won't happen.

Your 1C and 2C are going to need extensions at the same time next summer.

I highly doubt it and if he is the ask is going to be huge. If the Sharks decide to shed core the 1st out will be Meier.
I've said it before on here the Sharks will want: An established middle six C under 25 with upside, a 1st and a top prospect.

i’m a sharks fan and that is not an option!
the best we get is an NHL ready C who needs a few years before he takes a top 6 spot, a 1st and a prospect.
the offer here is an overpay actually.
