Bob Murray is trying to save his Job this offseason, trading Zegras is a surefire way for him to lose it

Zegras isnt getting traded, it has been widely reported he is untouchable, along with Drysdale. The best prospect ANA would move is Jacob Perreault.

If that doesnt get Eichel then whatever.

And the longer he doesnt get traded the lower his value gets with every temper tantrum him and his agent throw

Probably would only waive if immediately flipped with retained salary to another team.

If teams aren’t moving Lundqvist/Schneider then Zegras is a pipe dream.

IMO. the Ducks would rather have Shatterkirk and Troy at 5.3m, Zebrus, the first rounder and all that cap space for future use instead of Eichel.

I think it’s cause of the uncertainty surrounding the lack that has most teams scared. Cause they prolly don’t wanna give up a ton for a dude who still needs neck surgery.

It’s the uncertainty of the recovery but I think some don’t understand that yes it hasn’t be done to a NHL player but it has been done to a MMA fighter. Is there a risk? Absolutely, every neck/back/knee carries a risk. Another is that Eichel wants out and you most likely aren’t going to get “fair” value for a player if they request out. That also doesn’t mean they have to take a really crap offer either.

I was honestly hoping that they’d be able to reconcile their differences and prevent a trade altogether, but I’m not sure that likely long term anymore.

Yeah, I think Sabres have been a dumpster fire long enough. Completely understand Eichel’s side though too so hopefully Buffalo can extract some value out of him that aligns with their new core. Even as a fan of a rebuilding team (Detroit) I’d easily offer some assets to get Eichel with that neck injury risk. If they wanted young NHL players something like Zadina + Hronek or 2022 1st + prospect because the idea of having Eichel + Larkin like their NTDP is extremely enticing and should make them a more attractive FA destination.

Yeah I fully get that and that’s a pretty good deal for them imo. I don’t want the Rangers to do it cause of the future cap issues to follow that we’d have even if we didn’t acquire him.
