He's officially unofficially signed with NYI. Same can be said with Cizikas, Parise and Zajac.

Please.
However I don’t know about his fit on the second line with naz and burky. Burky is a sniper and naz at his best is a good finisher. So it would make sense to have a good playmaker there. And Palmeri while being a good player doesn’t really fit that mold.
Still would really like the add but I think he’s definitely going back to Long Island.

Hes been Lou signed in the shadows.

Tatar is the only realistic UFA of note left, but he wants term from what I can gather from reports out there

That’s interesting. I can understand why a player would want stability, but if he prioritizes term he’ll likely end up like Toffoli did on his contract, missing out on a lot of money.

Term, contract amount and a chance to win....hes not going to get 2 of those this late into the offseason so Tatar will have to prioritize one of them. If he does want term...dont see the fit in Colorado.
That is what stopped the Avs brining back Saad, they just couldnt go to that term he got in St Louis

For sure. Tatar should be trying to do what Barrie did and sign a 1 year deal in a place to bump up his next contract. And Colorado would be a great place for him to do that.

He would either play with Kadri and Burakovsky/Newhook on the 2nd line or with Jost and Nuke on the 3rd line...(which I would love as the forechecking analytical darling line)
As a player hes a great fit. It was reported avs checked in on him so heres hoping they can make it work.

Personally I would give him a 2 year deal (3-4m aav) and look at moving out Compher as he would be losing a top 9 job if they sign Tatar. If they can trade Compher for a dpeth Dman and add Tatar, I like the group a lot

The biggest difference here is that Tatar is 30 and has GREAT regular season results but has been a no show in the playoffs. If there is a team like NJD offering him a longer term deal he should likely just take that as if he gets scratched for a 3rd time his value will plummet to the earth
