Description
In the last year and a half Kane has been sued by an ex GF for Drama, racked up a horrendous debt in spite of being paid 7 mil a year, gotten himself sued by a casino, and the sharks and himself sued by his creditors, unconfirmed reports of over a half dozen teammates demanding he is traded or released in exit interviews this offseason and now this report from his wife about his horrendous actions like and betting on sharks games and intentionally throwing games to satisfy debts as well as sleeping with hookers. yes there is innocent until proven guilty but if you read into any of his past including wearing out his welcome in Atlanta, and Buffalo for immature antics I wont be surprised if they find out all of this is true. even if the gambling stuff is false the other proven issues are enough for me to want to void his deal.
this could be a positive scenario that could benefit the sharks,

#1, Arizona is in full teardown and rebuild mode, and the sharks have been rumored to be interested in Dvorak, so we offer Bichfeld, Simek, and a 2023 1st for Dvorak.
We move Couture to the wing where he will have less wear and tear and we can protect him more, plus Dvorak is a stronger faceoff guy.
Sign Palmieri to fill out top 6 RW need's.
now we have a solid top 9 with a bunch of young players fighting for spots rather than being given spots or placed in spots that they aren't ready for yet.
we now have solid depth and plenty of capable player to fill in as injuries occur or player need a rest day like on back to backs.
on D we sign a bottom pair defender to hold down shop if one of our prospects cant wrangle the job away from him.
karlsson is having his first surgery free and injury free summer to rest and recover and prepare for the season and i see him bouncing back to a solid player, which will take pressure off Burns and we can ease off playing Burns 28 min a night keeping him more rested and healthy. same with Vlassic, as last season went on we saw Valssic improve being played 16-18 min a night and if we can keep him there he should look better.
and Goaltending is much improved now with Reimer and Hill, no one not named Jones would argue that.
Our prospect pool is now back somewhere in the 9-15 overall range (from 27-31 two years ago)
with 4+ future top 6 guys and a plethora of depth player with upside, 2 top 4 D prospect and a few bottom pairing with upside and 3 potential starting goalies and a bunch of other prospects who could end up being solid backups.
plus we have most of our draft pick in the next 3 years!! we have the ability to compete and make the playoffs and maybe make some noise if we stay healthy...
but all this is pointless unless Kane is gone!!

I don’t think you should try to compete. Just bottom out and trade Hertl

why? our prospect pool is much stronger now! and all those big money contracts aren't going anywhere anytime soon, so we should at least try.
and the lineup above is a doable lineup and has the potential to compete!

Would be cool if they got a top centre in this draft and maybe another 1st rounder

my original goal was trade Hertl to NY for a 1st and chytl, Meir to montreal for Drouin and 2 2nds, and Labanc for a prospect and a pick, but DW is clearly against that so I have to roll with the punches.
I would like to take on an Arizona type plan and have 3 firsts and 5+ 2nds for the 22 draft that is suppose to be stronger and deeper than 20 which was an amazing draft.

I like the Hertl proposal. Don’t like Labanc and Meier. Raise their values a bit, then trade them. They still have some term

they have term but rumors are that both were available and teams were wary of their cap, their regression in their play and return DW was looking for, soooo we will see.

no way we trade the 22 first but the 23 first isnt looking like nearly as strong of a draft as 22 or 20 so im ok with it

Like the premise. Would rather see if they could do Tatar on a 1 year deal at closer to $5-5.5 million than Palmieri with some term simply because there are the deals for Hertl, Ferraro, and Knyzhov to deal with next summer and I think someone out of Dahlen, Eklund, Wiesblatt, or Bordeleau would be ready to take on a scoring role on the Hertl line. Also the potential that Barabanov is due for a big raise if it turns out last season was not a fluke so just prefer to have some flexibility for next offseason rather than give out term to a 2nd line winger.
