Why would the rebuilding Coyotes deal one of their top prospects and a pick for a 34 year old, declining Plekanec who makes 6 million/year? They're trying to get younger and build for the future, this makes absolutely no sense. They may take Plekanec in a cap dump if MTL sends them a pick/prospect for it, but they're definitely not giving up a pick and a prospect for him.

Plakanec is worth far less than this. They'd be lucky to get a second straight up. Desharnais would fetch a lot less too. A team can't just magically trade away older, declining players, for young players and picks like that. Won't happen.
