Trying to fit the RFAS

Created by: MisstheWhalers
Team: 2021-22 Winnipeg Jets
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 3, 2021
Published: Aug. 3, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I guess it fits, don't see Chevy trying to dump Beaulieu but maybe, can't see Niku kept as the 7th dman either. I'm not too excited about that Copp contract and would like to see Pionk signed longer term but this would fit and there's a bit of cap space to work with if Stanley needs a bit more.

Anyways I guess this fits but again I doubt they'd trade Bealieau, should be interesting to see what happens, anyone know when the arbitration dates are?

I really hope they just trade Copp.

Arbitration hearings will be held from august 11th until august 28th, not sure on the exact dates for Copp and pionk. I’d much rather see pionk signed longer, even if that means you have to pay him 6 million and trade Copp. You and I are somewhat on the same page when it comes to Copp and his play style. I do think he’s effective, but is replaceable and likely would be a regret if signed to that deal.

Chevy will make it fit somehow, but not likely in a way we love lol.

Is this how you think the d pairings will look?

Just imagine if they didn’t give such loyalty contracts to little and Wheeler, this team could be stacked if Wheelers number was on a stasny type trajectory, kind of along with production. 1 year at a time instead of that anchor. Shopping in Phoenix could be kind of interesting, a young cheap power forward would be on my list or a old goal scoring vet for the pp, but neither probably fit under current cap restraints.

I think this is where the pairings will start, but by playoff time there maybe a Dillon/demelo shutdown pair and morrissey/pionk offensive pair, I love the combos that can come with those two adds

will be interesting to see whose case goes first could open the jets up to a offer sheet i think Stanley gets short changed on a contract but he could be offer sheeted as well

In this case you have 1m in cap space. Just put Beaulieu on the taxi squad or Moose and (then he’s only 125,000 against the cap) and keep the 3rd

Something I've thought is if Little never got hurt and was a regular in the lineup who'd be living up to their contract, Little or Wheeler? I know I'd rather have Little at $5M then Wheeler at $8M.

Yeah I know, I did that on another post but all the Copp fans just keep commenting to trade Beaulieu to free up cap space so that's what I did here.. Lol

Personally I'd just send him down but in reality I think he'll be the #7 dman which means there's another move coming, maybe they dump Beaulieu but I doubt it.

Ya 100 percent, even a little with Lowry and copp, would improve that line a ton, would actually make some sense the Maurice rolls them out so often. I still think they both should have gone the way of stastny and a renegotiation every year, over the length they got. A healthy little right now would probably play to a 3.5 or 4.0, bounce between line 2 and 3 and Wheeler down to a 5.5 or maybe 6.0 and bounce between 1 and 2 and possibly 3 depending on how hot some of the other wingers get and health.

Scheifele also just sold his massive condo too, ah I know exactly what we’re both thinking, unfortunately likely just dreams in the end.. maybe wheeler will get a hip surgery since he’s been dealing with so much pain and come back for playoffs after being on LTIR.

Hearing Maurice is doing the same and they’re planing on moving in together and having a three way relationship

Actually I wasn't thinking anything really, just found it interesting, really don't see Wheeler going anywhere and the Schmidt and Dillon trades are all in kind of trades or at least Chevy level all in trades.. Lol

It'd probably take Scheifele as the sweetener to get some team to take Wheeler.. haha

Lots of rumours around the culture of the Locker room being toxic. Usually when there is smoke there is fire

Yeah, many tried to pin it on Laine but he wasn't the problem, Scheifele's hit in the Habs series looked like a cry for help, Wheeler doesn't take responsibility.
Will be interesting to see how Schmidt fits in, apparently he has a big personality.

You mean in a trade? I have no idea, really think they want to sign him and have no interest in dealing him, I wish they'd trade him but doubt they will.

Schmidt and Dillon have big locker room presence. Could be a message to some people.
