I don't blame you lol. I'll take whatever you've got that's the equivalent of a 4th line grinder

Hard pass from Detroit. Don't want Engvall for free, let alone giving up an asset.

This is still a thing? People really think that punchy dudes protect team mates? Despite literal decades of proof against? Like, there are literal studies that show 'tough' guys actually cause more phyisical issues like penalties, injuries and suspensions than they deter them. I was really hoping this would die off with Don Cherry off the air, but here we are.

makes sense, they're taking and an AHL player would help that more than an NHL player

How does having two non NHLers, Ho Sang and McCarron help the Leafs? Maybe the ECHL Growlers.

Yea, it's hilarious when people think a guy 2 years older who has done NOTHING in the NHL and is a throw away that was drafted in the 7th round, is worth a 2nd round pick, 23 year old, versatile winge, with snarl, who has produced at a decent PPG clip in both the NHL and AHL, and has more upside...

2 years older as a decent 4th liner in the nhl, yeah nothing compared to a guy who isn't an nhler

A guy that just got his first taste last year and will be a regular NHLer this season, yeah nothing compared to an NHL tweener who probably won't be on an NHL roster this season after Toronto waives him and sends him down to the Marlies

I tell you what then; by that logic you wouldn't mind trading us Amirov for Namestnikov right? Huh maybe there's a flaw in that priceless logic?

ah yes, a guy who might make a bottom 3 roster in the NHL, so valuable. Enjoy your AHLer.

oh yeah, that's totally the same logic. A top prospect is very comparable to a 23 year old bad AHLer. There is most certainly a flaw in that logic when you apply it while pretending context doesnt exist.

I'm sorry was there context? or did you just use a stupid argument and got called on it? Just stop. You haven't learned a thing.

the context in talking about a 4th liner and an AHLer who has an absolute ceiling of a 4th liner? That context? Or did your gotcha point just backfire on you. You can just ignore me if you want, but if you're gonna build strawman arguments because someone dared say a redwing prospect isnt good then you're gonna get called on it.

Ah yes, a guy who isn't even an NHLer, but was only on the Leafs because they were out of money and had to plug him in, so valuable. Enjoy your waived, unclaimed AHLer.

You mean the context where you LITERALLY claimed that one player had more value because he played more NHL games. If I've mischaracterized your argument than that's still your failure to communicate.

nah, the leafs had plenty of space, and 4th liners are pretty easy to find. Engvall is actually a decent 4th liner and quite good defensivly and he scored at a 1.5/60 ppg rate which, if you knew anything about 4th liners, is actually pretty good!
I mean, id be happy if the leafs found someone better to replace him, but that somebody isnt a ahler who fights so people thinks he's usefull.

yes, i LITERALLY claimed a 4th liner, who is established as such is more valuable than a guy who has only established himself as bottom end AHLer. When you are directly comparing two players you can use one being in the NHL as a regular against one who has not and has a long shot at doing such

WTF are you talking about? Smith just got his first taste of the NHL this year. I'm done with you. Persistence is not a replacement for an argument. You should have learned this by now.

ah yes, taste of the NHL with hilariously terrible results. Good job, so convincing. And if we're giving out internet tips, just because you tack on stuff like "persistence is not replacement for an argument" to your points does not a debate win. I'd say you should have learned that by now, but people who talk like that never do.
