Murray and LOC will be 3rd pairing and 4th line, but that is me nitpicking.

Nobody on CF, which means that at least half of the GM’s in the NHL would be very willing to take on a 26yr old 30pt forward who can play all 3 forward positions and special teams. So tell me again how nobody wants him?

Why wouldn't NJ just sign Tatar if he comes with such a fair contract?

Nichuskin isn't getting bumped down from the 3rd line.

That’s a lie, when gms are desperate. Like willingly give ceci and poolman a 4 year deals, gms would easily trade for compher who are desperate for a c

Because he wouldn't sign a cheap contract with a team that finished 28th in the league last year. Pretty self explanatory.

With NJ money is not going to be an issue.

Just wondering why would NJ settle for paying for weaker assets if they had a better one available for free...

The point is that Tatar may not want to sign with NJ in their present state. They also may not want to give term. If I'm Tatar, if I'm being forced to go short-term, I'd rather sign with a contender for a little less.

Probably, but if NJ is in the sweepstakes as they're reportedly after a goal scorer, why would they help Avs landing the guy they might be targeting too?
