Devils is not the team you can make serious offer sheet threat due to their amount of cap space. They'll easily match.

This isn't about kaprizov. It's about his stupid agent who also represents or represented marner. like wild beat writer said yesterday, if it was any other agent it would have been done

- wild aren't signing kaprizov to 1 year deal

I don't think Gourde is the center that this team needs -- and he's not cheap.

But man, those Parise + Suter buyouts are going to kill this team from '22-'25 -- I just don't see how they're gonna put up a competitive team with around $14m in dead cap space.

Isn’t Gourde out for quite awhile with a shoulder surgery/rehab?

I mean their situation can basically be interpreted like they'd have to play like they had these two players in their roster but without them actually being there. In theory they could replace their empty slots with league minimum contracts.

Sure, but I'd rather have Suter playing than a league minimum guy -- even at his age, Suter is effective. The Parise buyout made sense, I just think they could've waited on Suter.

I think they wanted to make sure they could protect 7-3-1 in ExD so they had to buyout both, but I agree with you they should've kept him.

At least that would've prevented Stars from signing him to a 4 year deal...f*cking Nill.

Yeah plus this isn't about kaprizov not signing. the agent representing kaprizov represented marner. Russo said yesterday if it was any other agent, deal would have been done 2 or more months ago

No it was suter and Parise were lockerroom problems. Guerin when asked recently smiled and said emphatically he has zero regrets buying out suter

Well for what it's worth Guerin has now destroyed the very core of the Wild. We'll see what happens, but his decisions has certainly raised a lot of questions. And now for the next three years they need to create a competing team with much, much smaller budget than others.

He might smile now, but he also might've shot himself in the foot big time here. Time will tell.

When a player like suter and Parise are lockerroom trouble, not sure if politics played a role, or not but Parise, and suter were wearing blue lives matter hat all year counterintuitively to what dumba was trying to do in the community.

Do I hate the burden on cap yes,but good riddance to both. Also suter had a 1st in line door to the owner to complain, and changes were needed

Lmao wtf if that is true why didn't Wild complain to the league and get those contracts voided if they didn't follow the leagues own rules on the following topic? Given one of their players is a main figure of the NDA they would've been more or less forced to act under the pressure of public opinion...

They were wearing it all year including in videos, etc.. others have also talked about how dumba is ecstatic they are no longer on the team. Was there a league rule regarding what hats players can wear? It ms definitely telling how much Guerin came to love dumba, and in dumba's own words after season ending press conference, 'Guerin told him he will do everything to keep him with wild long term, and then wild beat writer report, that GM Guerin had no intention of losing dumba see MN s fitting now in terms of suter and Parise release
