The Panthers would get nearly as much relief by buying out Bob, and the $1.75 million cap hit in 2027, 28, 29, and 30 is probably manageable if it means keeping Lundell.

Knight still has two more years on his ELC. Before that runs out, the Panthers pay less than 11M to their two goalies. Not too bad. Definitely not bad enough to dumb Lundell for a few millions worth of relief.

Exactly, entire point here was to go after Lundell. I neglected the cost of the buyout cuz I’m dumb, but really I was just curious on the valuation of taking Bob for Lundell. Which, I see now doesn’t make any sense at all for FLA.

I would hope it’s evident that something like this obviously doesn’t ever happen IRL, and it’s just a purely theoretical conversation around values.
