The issue is the Leafs paid with a prospect and a late pick to protect Kerfoot. So trading him now for a cap dump better be a part of landing something significant in return.

Meh, it’s a fair trade, doesn’t mean a team would do it. Lots of factors besides just being fair.

Chychrun is Arizona's #1 defenseman going forward. Given his skill and contract, I doubt very much they move him. Rielly doesn't slot in and fill that role, plus he's older and has no term. Rielly's contract would end up being more money that Chychrun's by the end of things, and he is the worse defenseman of the two. I get Robertson and Amirov are two very good prospects, but the Coyotes will not be short of prospects given the sheer amount of draft picks they have.
