Like the idea of Dobby going to Edmonton, but I doubt Dallas wants to take back Koskinen, they already have Bishop(IK he’s on LTIR but still), Just signed Holtby, plus Oettinger, doubt they want yet another expensive goalie with their limited cap space.

Could work though if you did a 3-team and a Shane Wright team with tons of cap like Arizona or Buffalo, could take Koskinen and picks from Dallas go there, IDK

The first is nice, but we literally cannot add cap space or goalies, Koskinen would have to be involved in a 3 way trade with another team.

If the Oilers retained 150K-200k it would keep the Stars under the cap

Way too much to pay for a backup.

More of a 1B tandem option than a true backup

Still too much.

Koskinen's save percentage over the past 2 seasons - apart from the crazy start to this year when he played 12 games in 24 nights, traveling thousands of miles across 4 time zones - was .916 in all situations. Khudobin posted a .918 over the past 2 seasons in all situations. Is that .002 really worth a 1st??

To put it in perspective, Koskinen faced 1553 shots over that timeframe. Even if you think Khudobin's sv% would hold firm behind Edmonton's more porous defense (it won't), he would have saved just 3.5 more goals than Koskinen did, in 52 games. If Khudobin plays 41 games, you've saved the team 2.75 goals. Is that really worth a 1st to you?
