That's really interesting. Kessel is more of a sniper and JVR is more of a stand in front of the net guy. But Kessel is older by a bit and is clearly slowing down, where JVR was on pace for a pretty good season over a full 82. I think I would do this for one, to make a change and get more of a pure goal scorer, see if there is maybe one more year you can squeeze 20/25 goals from him (after all he did have 20 on a horrible Yotes team). Additionally, one less year on his contract so it would be freed up next year for Coots and G's extensions.
