Could do this deal without retaining as the Tarasenko contract is not long enough to hurt the Devils next offseason.

Not that it matters much anymore, as it doesn't currently look like he's going anywhere, but yours was a decent offer and I personally feel that Boqvist plus that pick is fair value for Tarasenko, without any retention.
