I do fear that will be about the return for Eichel. Not awful, i like Boldy, who knows what he turns into. However, Korp isnt worth a 2nd let alone 2. You can get him cheaper or just grab another goalie. He only has 1 yr on his contract too.

I’d be happy if CBJ pulled that.

Doesn't make sense for Buffalo to waste those picks on Korpisalo.

That looks about right on return, but the wild couldn’t do it without retention. Pretty sure that’s the big hold up for every team. They can’t or won’t take on all 10m and buffalo’s has his fingers in his ears about retention.

I think that the Goligoski signing closed the window on Eichel to Minnesota. The Wild have $19.7 million in cap space and this trade is negative $6 million. That leaves $13 million to re-sign Fiala and Kaprizov, and that still leaves them with only 11 forwards and 6 defensemen. And next year the cap hit rises $3 million for Minny (increase in hits from Parise and Suter buyouts minus Goligoski coming off the books).

Other teams offered way better offers and yet, sabres fans litteraly said these were awfull. From MTL, KK, Drouin, Ylonen, a first and a second is at least similar to the one above.

Only way we can make it work is by moving Fiala. I don't think he makes sense for Buffalo since I doubt he'd sign there long term, but if there's a 3rd team that wants him and can afford to move a futures package for him that subsequently goes to Buffalo, we could afford to do that.
