This is bad news for the eastern Wild card race.

NJ is packing up to get a playoff spot.

I hope their chemistry is awful, sorry ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

TAAAAATAAAARRRR!

I still don't know why he was singled out in the playoffs, but it worked out for us. Can't be solely for lack of production. Everyone on the Habs struggled to produce at times.

Good luck in NJ. Should be a good deal.

First of all thank to Tomas for all the time with the habs. We had a whole lot of fun with tuna. He is a good but soft player. Can play the 200 feet game but alas in playoff he is a ghost.

Nice locker guy and can be a fan favorite when he scores few beautiful goals.

I wonder where and how he fits in Nj, but hope the best for him. He might vanish but i can't be rude cuz he played as much as possible in his pace with us. Farewell Tuna and have fun smile

I'm a little surprised he didn't get more.

I'd have to say the complete opposite. I'm suprised he was able to get this much, his value was at an all time low with him being a playoff healthy scratch.

This is an absurd amount of money for a healthy scratch for 6 straight weeks of playoff hockey.

Great signing. Amazing value given the upside Tatar has.

Devils are taking some big steps in the right direction here so watch out for them next season.

And now I think it's clear that Fitzy is the GOAT.

He's going to help Jersey a lot, and he's likely a good value at this price, but I expected him to kind of be the steal of this FA season and end up with a salary starting with a $3M for 1-2 years. Still like the deal, and Jersey getting a bit aggressive after landing Hamilton is the right move, and 2 years makes it no risk, so no criticism of the signing at all. Just a little surprised this is just a good deal and not one of the biggest home runs of the offseason. Good for Tatar though that the narrative that he disappears in the playoffs didn't cost him too insane an amount of money. I'm sure he's got some issues with confidence at certain times, but he's barely been given a chance to try and prove anyone wrong, and at this price for this team, he's going to get his chance.
