Blues accept.

Am I crazy or does this seem pretty good value all around?
Like obviously I don't see it happening, but everyone seems to make out alright?

Here’s my question: is Monahan’s value that high? I actually really like him, and if it was up to me, and that was a “take it or leave it offer,” I would jump at it. That said, two real down years for monahan, and his contract comes at a lot more risk than Debrusk’s.

If I’m the bruins, I make this deal, but before hand I would be pushing for that 1st to be a 2nd using the logic above.

Pass on the STL trade, no reason to do that at all

Somehow you're getting more for Tkachuk than we are for eichel. Id rather just trade eichel to the blues for their first, tarasenko and kyrou.

I think so.
Is he an elite top 1c? No.. But he would be an amazing 2c for the bruins.
His floor is a 20g/50pt center, he's only 26 and is signed for 2 more years.

There is one situation where Calgary would want to do this, however unfounded you may think it is.

Flames are not getting more for Chuky here..
Really? As buffalo you'd rather have tarasenko over another first + debrusl + Pelletier?
I guess that's your opinion man.

Well, last year he played at a 16 goal, 45 point per 82 pace. Again, i like the player, but over 6 million with back to back years like that is a little scary. Don’t get me wrong, I like the player and maybe he just needs a change in scenery, or maybe the pandemic measures effected him more than most. Again, i would do that trade, but I would push to drop the draft pick compensation a smidge.

Yea I get what you're saying. It was pretty clear he was playing with a severe injury through most of last year (required hip surgery). If you look through the rest of his numbers he's been Mr.Consistent. Even this year with a severe injury and getting moved down to 2c he was pretty close to those averages.

He's a prime candidate for a bounce-back. I can't understate how noticeable it was that he was playing through an injury

I feel like ive broken this down for you before, pre injury Monahan paced 63 points, post injury he paced 38

And are we sure he’s over the injury?

I don’t think Tarasenko would waive for Calgary

He got hip surgery at the very end of the season and it was successful. There is no guarantee he is the same until he plays again but from what ive read his specific surgery has a high rebound rate (as in most players return to their former selves).

Buffalo will accept if they're getting Calgary's first, Boston and St Louis' first should be late firsts, Calgary is up in the air, the Pacific is a weaker conference, they could make the playoffs or miss.

Nah the value here is fine, the upgrade from Dube to Kyrou makes up for the difference in 1sts.

I'm not saying the value isn't there, I am saying Buffalo will want the better 1st round pick

Keep it simple - which it will likely end up being:

Dube, Zary, Pelletier, Monahan & 1st rounder (Monahan only to help balance the cap hits; Sabres will want the young players and need a center coming back) for Eichel. None of the players the Flames would be giving up seem like Sutter-type players that he'd be upset losing.
