Description
I don't get the Hoffman signing. Even without Drouin they didn't need to upgrade their wings. With Drouin it just seems excessive.

You won't be able to be as defensively strong with Weber and Danault gone, but similar to Vegas if you are run and gun offense first you don't need to worry about defense as much. The Habs have potentially 4 - 20+ goal scorers on their wings. Not too many teams have that.

Okay that makes sense.

But I think you guys need to make a trade no? The team has 7 wingers making 3.4 mil plus, one in the mid 2s and a stud young guy on an elc. Drouin is not stud but neither he nor the team will be happy with him on the fourth line, no?

Well, if you're going to score by committee, it follows that you need a committee of scorers, right?

Toronto does and 3 of them will score 30+ and I'd wager they have the potential of another 20 goal scorer or two if their signings pan out better than expected which isn't impossible but it is unlikely. Kase could do it if he stays healthy. Bunting or Ritchie could cash in if they click in the top 6. Having a bunch of 2nd liners but no true first liners doesn't really work.

Losing in the playoffs is losing in the playoffs.
