Would love Timo Meier but Toronto would never trade for him and here’s the reason why. Sharks backloaded the Meier contract so his base salary in 22-23 before he’s an RFA is 10 million. That means his qualifying offer starts at 10 million and that’s the lowest you can offer him.

Ok fair. Toronto is in a win now mode but they’ll need cheap depth the few years and giving up Joey Anderson, and Mikhail Abramov isn’t a smart move especially since Abramov is 1 yr away from being a solid depth scorer and Anderson is gonna be the new style grinders. Leafs are gonna trade some fo their players to recoupe picks for this years draft and sell those to go all in.

Devils had league worst PK last season. Wouldn’t hurt them to give up 1 of 3 4ths to improve it.

Sharks can get themselves out of a $10M QO due to Meier in 2023 (pretty tight cap situation) and get futures for him (help rebuild)

10M QO doesn't mean he's getting 10M, sharks reject.
